When doing up a chronological CV, you should outline sections of your experience, education and skills to show what you've accomplished. HR personnel and employers take less than a minute to scan your CV, so it's imperative to highlight and organize items into several concise and relevant segments.
按時(shí)間順序?qū)懞?jiǎn)歷時(shí),你應(yīng)該按經(jīng)歷、教育情況和技能分類來展現(xiàn)你在各方面獲得的成就。HR和雇主只花不到1分鐘的時(shí)間看你的簡(jiǎn)歷,所以將個(gè)人情況分成幾個(gè)清晰明了的小板塊描述是非常必要的。
If you're a recent graduate and therefore have not yet been employed, put your Education section first. In addition to the basics – university name, degree and graduation date – you can include relevant coursework, honors or awards.
如果你即將畢業(yè)還未被雇傭,應(yīng)將“教育背景”放在最前面,除了在這塊中寫上大學(xué)名稱、學(xué)歷和畢業(yè)時(shí)間外,還可以加上相關(guān)課程和所獲榮譽(yù)。
Other categories might include Relevant Work Experience, Volunteer Experience, Computer Skills, Activities, Language Skills and so on.
其他分類還應(yīng)該包括相關(guān)工作經(jīng)歷、志愿者經(jīng)歷、參加活動(dòng)、語言技能等等。
Fonts: Whether you email, fax or post your CV, keep your font plain and easy to read. And select a reasonable size – anywhere between 9 and 12 points should be acceptable. Use a font like Arial or Verdana, not Times New Roman.
字體:不管是發(fā)郵件、傳真或是簡(jiǎn)歷,所用字體一定要簡(jiǎn)潔并方便閱讀。字號(hào)選擇要合理——9號(hào)到12號(hào)大小都比較適合閱讀;字體可以是Arial或Verdana,不要用Times New Roman。
Formatting: Too many different fonts, colors and graphic styles will hold the reader up. Simple bullets are best for separating your duties and skills; use bold and italics sparingly. Formatting should highlight your accomplishments, not draw attention away from them.
版式:太多的字體、顏色和圖案會(huì)讓看簡(jiǎn)歷的人沒興趣再讀下去。簡(jiǎn)單的`小分句可以把技能和工作清晰表述出來,并適當(dāng)使用粗體和斜體。版式是用來突出個(gè)人成就,而不是降低看客興趣的。
Action-words: Instead of starting your sentence with a noun, kick off with an active verb.
動(dòng)詞:使用動(dòng)詞而不是名詞開頭來描述你的經(jīng)歷。
Numbers: It's a good idea to include numbers, percentages and amounts in your job descriptions to back up your achievements. For example, Increased turnover by 20% in first year. Supervised a team of 10 people.
數(shù)字:在職位描述中用數(shù)字、百分比或數(shù)量支撐你獲得的成就是非常占優(yōu)勢(shì)的。比如:提高了20%的周轉(zhuǎn)率,管理了10人團(tuán)隊(duì)。
Length: No one wants to scan through two or more pages of long-winded accomplishments and experience. If it doesn't all fit, cut it down to the most relevant and impressive items.
長(zhǎng)度:沒有人愿意看超過兩頁的寫滿成就和經(jīng)歷的簡(jiǎn)歷,如果所獲成就并不是和職位有很強(qiáng)的關(guān)聯(lián)度,可以把簡(jiǎn)歷長(zhǎng)度縮短,以內(nèi)容最相關(guān),招聘官看后印象深刻為準(zhǔn)。
