面試的基本原則是誠(chéng)實(shí)原則，那么在面試的時(shí)候到底能不能撒些小謊呢?這要因事而論，不過(guò)下面這四件事，你最好不要在面試官面前說(shuō)謊，不僅是因?yàn)楹苋菀妆婚喨藷o(wú)數(shù)的HR識(shí)破，而且對(duì)自己未來(lái)的前途也不利。
1.I do kind of live here
我在這里有住處
If you’ve used a different address on your résumé to tailor it to where the job is based, don’t lie about it when it comes up inthe interview. If your potential employer asks you w here you live, tell them where you currently live, but let them know that you’re willing to move for the job. The problem with this lie is you may have several rounds of interviews and you’ll have to keep flying back and forth for them. If they think you live in the city, they’ll probably give you short notice for interviews and those last-minute flights can be really expensive.
如果你為了應(yīng)聘某個(gè)工作而在簡(jiǎn)歷上修改了你的住址的話，那么在面試的時(shí)候，如果說(shuō)到住處的問(wèn)題，你最好還是不要隱瞞。如果你的未來(lái)雇主問(wèn)你住在哪，你可以告訴他們你現(xiàn)在的住址，但是讓他們知道你愿意為了這份工作而搬家。對(duì)現(xiàn)住址撒謊的后果是：在之后幾輪的面試中，你不得不當(dāng)空中飛人來(lái)回奔波。如果未來(lái)雇主認(rèn)為你就住在公司所在的城市，他們就可能不會(huì)提前很久通知你下一輪面試，而臨時(shí)購(gòu)買機(jī)票往往是很貴的。
2.I make so much more than my real salary
在薪酬上虛報(bào)
If your interviewer asks you how much you made at your last job, you may think it’s a white lie to fudge the numbers a little. However, some employers ask for a copy of your W2, so you may want to be cautious about giving a fake amount because it can be construed as unethical. If you don’t want to cough up your previous salary, let it be known that you don’t think it has any bearing on this new job and cite the typical industry number.
如果面試官問(wèn)你上一份工作的薪酬是多少，你是不是想多報(bào)一點(diǎn)呢?但記住，老板很有可能問(wèn)你要你工資條的復(fù)印件來(lái)核實(shí)，如果你虛報(bào)的話，那么雇主就會(huì)覺(jué)得你缺乏職業(yè)道德。如果你不想談及自己以前的薪酬的話，那就告訴面試官，你原來(lái)薪酬多少不會(huì)影響到這份工作，或者就給出該行業(yè)的平均薪酬就好。
3.That’s totally my GPA
你的平均成績(jī)是多少
If you think that inflating your grade point average will get you the job, you may want to reconsider. Some companies request a copy of your transcript or verification with the school, especially those with job positions that require a minimum GPA.
如果你覺(jué)得把平均成績(jī)說(shuō)高一點(diǎn)，會(huì)讓你獲得這份工作，那么你要三思了。有些公司，特別是那些要求最低平均成績(jī)的公司，在詢問(wèn)了你的成績(jī)后，會(huì)向你索取學(xué)校提供的平均成績(jī)的副本。
4.I didn’t get fired at my last job
我不是被炒魷魚的
Given the bad economy, there are plenty of people that have been laid off so don’t be afraid to let the interviewer know. Try not to go into the details, and let her know what happened and what you learned from the experience.
鑒于現(xiàn)在的就業(yè)市場(chǎng)不景氣，很多人都是被裁員的。所以，不要害怕讓面試官知道你是被炒魷魚的這個(gè)事實(shí)。但不要說(shuō)得太具體，讓面試官知道到底發(fā)生了什么事，你從上一份工作中學(xué)到了什么就夠了。
Remember, the general rule of thumb is to be honest during your interview. It’s different for everyone, but if you get asked uncomfortable questions, there’s always a polite way of refusing to answer.
記住，面試中的黃金定律是要誠(chéng)實(shí)。要求每個(gè)人做到誠(chéng)實(shí)也是不太現(xiàn)實(shí)的，不過(guò)如果你覺(jué)得面試官的問(wèn)題讓你不舒服，那就婉拒回答這個(gè)問(wèn)題就可以了。
