Interviewing is a skill that can be learned and the key lies in the three Ps of planning, practice and preparation. Find out as much about as you can about the company; look at the organisation’s website and, if possible, talk to people who already work there.
面試是很具技巧性的,而這技巧,就三個(gè)“做“字”,做計(jì)劃,做練習(xí)和做準(zhǔn)備。要盡可能多的找到公司相關(guān)信息,瀏覽企業(yè)網(wǎng)站,如果有可能的話,和公司員工學(xué)習(xí)點(diǎn)經(jīng)驗(yàn)也是很不錯(cuò)的主意。
The chemistry between you and interviewer is important so project a positive attitude. Smile from time to time and ask intelligent questions. Maintain eye contact, use the interviewer’s name occasionally and try to establish a common ground.
你和面試官之間的“化學(xué)反應(yīng)”很重要,所以一定要呈現(xiàn)一個(gè)積極的態(tài)度。一直保持微笑,問些機(jī)敏的問題,注意眼神交流,時(shí)不時(shí)稱呼一下面試官的名字,這樣可以拉近距離,并盡力建立雙方一致,相似共通的境地。
However despite all this good advice there may come a time in the interview when you are totally thrown by an unexpectedly difficult question.
不過呢,面試也不會(huì)一直處在這種和諧的狀態(tài)下,會(huì)有那么一會(huì),你會(huì)被置于問題尖銳,氣氛緊張的環(huán)境中。
When this happens, don’t panic and start to babble nonsense. Ask the interviewer to explain what he or she means. Breathe out to relieve the tension and breathe in slowly.
當(dāng)這種情況發(fā)生的時(shí)候,不要慌張,也不要支支吾吾,無心作答。請(qǐng)面試官解釋一下他到底意在何方,想問什么。然后深呼吸,緩解心中的緊張感。
Here are some seemingly innocent questions that often prove difficult:
下面是一些看似簡(jiǎn)單無意,事實(shí)暗藏殺機(jī)的問題:
Question:“Tell me about yourself”
問:“講講你自己。”
This is an opportunity for you to talk about your personal characteristics and skills. Remember to remain relevant and to stress achievements that translate into strengths you would bring to the job
這是一個(gè)稱述你個(gè)人特色和能力的大好時(shí)機(jī)。記住要始終和此工作相關(guān),著重強(qiáng)調(diào)你以前的工作業(yè)績(jī),并將它們巧妙轉(zhuǎn)化為你能為這家公司帶來的利益。
Question:“What books or magazines do you read?”
問:“你平時(shí)都讀些什么書或者雜志?”
The books you read tell the interviewer something about your personality. Mentioning a relevant journal would be a good idea, saying you don’t like to read would be a bad idea!
你讀的書和雜志可以透露出你的個(gè)人特征。被問到這個(gè)問題的時(shí)候,你可以講講你讀過的和行業(yè)相關(guān)的一些雜志。如果你回答你不喜歡讀書看報(bào)……沒有人會(huì)聘用不愛讀書的人吧。
Question: “Why do you want to work for us?”
問:“你為什么想要為我們工作?”
This is an opportunity for you to show off all the research you have done into the company
回答這個(gè)問題的時(shí)候,你就可以把你搜索到的關(guān)于此公司的有用信息都講述出來了。
Question: “Where do you plan to be in five years time?”
問:“5年之后你計(jì)劃會(huì)在怎樣的職位上?”
Another opportunity to show you know the company structure. Many people answer “management” but there are other avenues of career advancement your research should have turned up; staff engineer, consultant etc
又到了展示你對(duì)公司的深入了解的時(shí)候了。許多人會(huì)回答“管理層”,但是其實(shí)還有很多回答,這就看你之前做的準(zhǔn)備工作怎么樣了,公司也許也會(huì)需要工程師,顧問等等重要人才。
Question:“What are your strengths and weaknesses?”
問:“你的強(qiáng)項(xiàng)和弱勢(shì)分別是什么?”
Talk about relevant strengths for the job and irrelevant weaknesses. If you can, mention a personal weakness that could be seen as a professional strength; I’m a workaholic! (though avoid being seen as insincere)
回答這個(gè)問題的重點(diǎn)是講述,和工作相關(guān)的優(yōu)點(diǎn),和工作無關(guān)的缺點(diǎn)。如果可以的話,你可以講一個(gè)個(gè)人角度的弱點(diǎn),而在工作角度上看卻是優(yōu)點(diǎn),例如,我是一個(gè)工作狂!(注意不要在說這句話的時(shí)候讓人聽著假)
Question:“What were your favourite subjects in school and why?”
問:“你在學(xué)校里最喜歡的課程是什么?為什么?”
Mention anything that shows an interest in the employer’s kind of work. Bring up any interesting or unusual projects in that area
你提及的課程,最好是和面試工作相關(guān)的課程。提到一些該領(lǐng)域的有趣點(diǎn)和令人眼前一亮的項(xiàng)目。
Question: “What do you like to do in your spare time?"
問:“你空余時(shí)間喜歡干什么?”
It’s good to have strong outside interests and if they are pastimes that would be anasset to the job, so much the better
有專門的愛好是很好的,如果這種消遣方式能給工作也帶來好處,就更好了。
Question: “Are you being interviewed by any other companies?”
問:“你有沒有被其他公司面試過?”
Let the interviewer know you may have other options but this company is your first choice
這時(shí)你就要讓面試官知道,你也許有其他的選擇,但是這家公司是你目標(biāo)的第一位。
Question: “Give an example of your leadership skills”
問:“舉個(gè)證明你有領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力的例子。”
Mention anything, going all the way back to your school days; sports clubs or societies
從學(xué)校經(jīng)歷,到體育運(yùn)動(dòng)隊(duì),到各類協(xié)會(huì),一路講述展現(xiàn)你領(lǐng)導(dǎo)才能的例子。
Question:” Why should we hire you?”
問:“為什么我們要雇用你?”
Because you would be an asset; you are loyal and motivated
因?yàn)槟銜?huì)為公司帶來益處,你對(duì)公司忠誠,并且對(duì)工作充滿熱情。
Question:“Do you have any questions for us?”
問:“你有問題要問我們嗎?”
Show you have been attentive during the interview; develop questions that have arisen during the interview
此時(shí)要體現(xiàn)出你在面試過程中一直很留心,找一個(gè)在之前面試過程中提到過的問題,從更深的層面去詢問,會(huì)是一個(gè)好方法。
Question: “What motivates you?”
問:“什么東西會(huì)激勵(lì)你?”
Don’t say a lot of money! Say “A challenge” or “interesting work”
不要回答“很多很多錢!”回答:“一個(gè)挑戰(zhàn)”或者“有趣的工作”。
Question: “What is your greatest achievement?”
問:“你有過的最大成就是什么?”
Identify an achievement that is relevant to the job or make your experience relevant by matching it to one of the skills they are looking for
談及一個(gè)和工作性質(zhì)相關(guān)的成就,或者一件事,從中能體現(xiàn)出你某項(xiàng)才能,而這項(xiàng)才能剛好和該工作要求的相符。
Question: “What are your salary requirements?”
問:“你對(duì)薪水有什么要求?”
State that although salary is not your primary consideration you do have to pay the bills. Say you would be open to any reasonable offer and if pressed for a figure give a number that shows you have researched the local job market
你需要說明,薪水不是你選擇工作的第一指標(biāo),不過報(bào)酬多少也在考慮之中,合理的報(bào)酬都是可以接受的。也可以給出一個(gè)數(shù)字,不過這要建立在你重分研究了當(dāng)?shù)厥袌?chǎng)數(shù)據(jù)的基礎(chǔ)上。
Question: “Any type of question you feel too personal”
問:“過于私人的問題。”
If you feel uncomfortable about a question you feel is inappropriate, you could say “I am sorry but I don’t feel comfortable answering that question”
當(dāng)你被問及一些私人問題,且你覺得不方便回答的時(shí)候,你可以直接回答:“不好意思,我真的不太方便回答這個(gè)問題。
