Emma (E): Good afternoon, Madam. Nice to meet you.
Interviewer (I): Nice to meet you, Lee Yang. Do you have an English name?
E: Yes, Emma.
I: Well, Emma. Firstly I’ll introduce our company and say some details about what kind of people we need right now, OK?
E: Sure, thank you.
I: We’re a company focuses on providing top-quality art service to our clients globally, founded in 1999, having four branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Los Angeles with more than 250 artists. Considering about our future development, we are ready to start a new round of recruitment activities. As you may know, our clients come from all over the world, that’s why we need producers who can write and speak fluent English. Their job is to be a middle man between our artists and clients, expresses their opinion clearly and help them to communicate. We have a 20-people producer team now, and we are looking for more. Do you have any question about the position you’re applying?
E: Not yet, thank you.
I: OK, now why don’t you briefly introduce yourself to me?
E: Sure. My name is Lee Yang, I graduated from XX University in 2008 with bachelor degree of English. After my graduation, I went to XX Business Management Company, took a job as translator. I spent some happy days there. My ex-boss is a British gentleman who treated me very well. But there was one thing that bothered me a lot-they worked from 5:00p.m to 10:00p.m. After a year later, I’ve felt been isolated from all my friends. I knew I had to leave and that’s why I’m here today.
I: I see. Can you talk more about yourself?
E: Yes, speaking of myself, I consider myself as an optimistic one, always looking for the bright side. I like to do things carefully and efficiently. I love sports, every Saturday afternoon, I’ll go to gym to play Ping pong with my friends. I also fancy pool, but I’m a beginner right now. Also, I like reading and listen to music. Sometimes when I am in the right mood I will write some articles to speak my mind.
I: Can you tell me the reason why do you want to work in our company?
E: Well, as you just told me, you’re a worldwide company aims to foreign market. I think this is the perfect environment that every English student is looking for. English skill will fade away unless you can use it every day. Besides, I would like to try something different this time. I think the industry you are in keeps people young.
I: Can you tell me what do you think you could do for us if you achieved this position successfully?
E: Well, I was trained by systemic classes and I had a very good performance that you could tell from my record. I have one-year experience in translating so it won’t be long for me to adjust my new job. I have communication skills, accuracy in handling details, cheerful personality, strong leadership, and a sense of responsibility.
I: OK, thank you, Emma. We’ll let you know if we made a decision.
E: Thank you for your time, Madam.
