圣誕節(jié)的由來
為什么要把12月25日定為圣誕節(jié)呢?這是在5世紀(jì)中葉由教會(huì)規(guī)定的。公元354年，在“菲洛卡連”日歷中第一次寫明12月25日是“耶穌”的生日，到5世紀(jì)西方普遍接受了這個(gè)日期為圣誕節(jié)。
圣誕歌
長期以來，一直流行的圣誕歌主要有三個(gè)，一個(gè)是《平安夜》;一個(gè)是《聽，天使報(bào)佳音》;第三個(gè)是《鈴鐺兒響叮當(dāng)》。
圣誕老人
圣誕老人原指公元4世紀(jì)時(shí)小亞細(xì)亞專區(qū) 的主教尼古拉，他因和藹可親慷慨濟(jì)貧萬里聞名。到了6世紀(jì)，東方把他尊稱為圣尼古拉。由于民間有關(guān)尼古拉的傳說中，都聯(lián)系到少年兒童和禮物，從此，圣誕老人便成為專門在圣誕節(jié)向孩子們送禮物的'慈祥老人的形象。到了18世紀(jì)，通過文學(xué)和繪畫，圣誕老人逐漸成為身穿紅外衣的白胡子、白眉毛老人形象。

Although the exact date of the birth of Jesus nearly 2,000 years ago is not known, the calendar on the supposed date divides all time into B.C. (Before Christ )and A.D. ( a Latin phrase, Anno Domini, "in the year of our Lord.")For the first 300 years, Jesus' birthday was celebrated on different dates. Finally, in the year 354, church leaders chose December 25 as his birthday.
