美國留學中學面試技巧早知道
眾所周知，除排名前15位的美國大學有招生面試以外，對于中國高中生來講，其他的美國大學的錄取均取決于語言成績和文書亮點的挖掘�，F(xiàn)在美國本科的申請基本上“廝殺”于白紙黑字間，看哪一位申請者可以將自己平淡的校園生活和競賽經(jīng)歷生動地寫出來。而美國中學的申請則不然，不論文書寫得多絢麗，個人宣傳冊做得多精美，一切都要憑真才實料把自己最閃耀的一面通過面試活生生地體現(xiàn)在招生老師的面前。因此，面試是美國學錄取中最關鍵的環(huán)節(jié)，學生的表現(xiàn)如何將直接決定校方是否錄取該生。
下面則從幾個方面談一下美國中學面試過程中應重點考察的幾個方面和注意事項。
一、英語能力的考核
學生和家長往往認為只要在TOEFL、SSAT或者SLEP考試中獲得高分就代表一個學生的英語能力較高，但在美國中學面試官眼里未必如此。他們想看到的并非只是一個學生考取得高分，更希望通過學生在面試中的交流，體會到學生在英語方面的實際運用能力，尤其聽說能力則顯得更為重要。面試官在面試中通常會重點考察學生的詞匯量、聽力和口語，從而判斷其是否具備基本的語言能力可以在其中學里完成相應年級的課程。有的時候學生語言考試成績雖然很高，但是聽說能力卻較差，則在美國中學面試中不占優(yōu)勢;有些學生語言考試成績不是最高分，但是語言表達流暢自如、灑脫自信，這樣的學生反而在面試中會占有較大的優(yōu)勢贏得面試官的喜歡。

美國中學面試過程中，面試官對性格、興趣愛好方面的考量更為重視。一般情況下，性格開朗、自信大方、活潑好動的學生往往能在第一視覺上吸引面試官的注意力。美國中學的教育注重培養(yǎng)的是學生的個性和自信，并不在于誰是第一，而崇尚的是人人都第一。因此，美國中學面試官更喜歡對自己有明確規(guī)劃并且可以自信地完成目標的學生。同時，面試官將重點考察學生的興趣愛好，并且思考該生的興趣愛好是否可以在其中學里得到發(fā)展。美國中學想錄取的不一定是全世界最優(yōu)秀的學生，而是最適合其校園氛圍和培養(yǎng)理念的學生。因此，學生如果在面試前對即將面試的中學做一些細致的了解，并且在興趣愛好展示方面掌握好一定的匹配度，則可以較為輕松地贏得面試官的好感。

leisure time?”是常見問題之一，主要意圖考察學生在學習之余喜歡做的事情。有些學生就回答“Basketball”就結束了;而有些學生可以圍繞這一問題講一段非常精彩且條理清晰的故事，讓面試官不僅對其興趣愛好有所了解，還可以體會到學生豐富的知識面和清晰的邏輯表達能力。例如，有些學生會這樣回答：“我平時喜歡打籃球，最喜歡的明星是科比，因為科比的身上有每個人都需要學習的執(zhí)著和不懈奮斗的精神。它用籃球向年輕人展示了有夢想就要奮斗，有奮斗就可以成功。而我選擇到美國讀中學一樣是一條需要通過努力實現(xiàn)自己夢想的道路。我會堅持下去??”同一個問題，不同的回答則可以展示一個學生的應變能力、表達能力和邏輯思維等。因此，在面試過程中看似一個簡單的問題卻可以用不同的方法來回答從而收效則不相徑庭。
三、校園活動方面的考核
中國學生不論是申請美國大學還是美國中學都非常清楚地知道美國教育中的優(yōu)秀人才培養(yǎng)一定有一個方面是領導力，因此，在美國中學面試過程中很多學生都急于表現(xiàn)自己是學生會主席、班長等干部身份，這是一種對領導力的誤解。在美國人眼里所謂“領導力”就是指一個人的影響力，這種影響力體現(xiàn)在校園活動的方方面面和每一處細節(jié)。在展示校園活動的過程當中，中國學生總是陳述自己所獲得的成就，而忽略講述整個參與的過程。面試官往往更關注一個學生在參與某一活動中的初期設想、實踐過程、遇到的困難，又是如何克服的，哪怕是一個失敗的結果，但如果可以從這樣一個過程中發(fā)現(xiàn)自己的潛能等，這才是美國中學所崇尚的校園活動的經(jīng)歷。因此，面試官想聽到的不僅僅是一個結果，而是學生在過程中的所感、所想、所悟。
關于校園活動，有的時候面試官會問到“Have you ever attended some associations in your school?”這樣的問題，有些學生回答：“Yes, I joined in environmental protection association.” 而有些學生則回答：“是的，因為平時對環(huán)境保護的問題非常感興趣，所以自發(fā)組織了五個同學成立了一個環(huán)境保護小組。記得有一次我們五個同學騎自行車到首都鋼鐵廠附近去測北京的空氣污染指數(shù)，并將這些數(shù)據(jù)做好記錄。當時，北京的空氣污染比較嚴重，于是我們就做了一份宣傳海報貼在校園里，倡導所有同學鼓勵爸爸媽媽每周少開一天車以減少汽車尾氣對空氣的污染。后來，首都鋼鐵廠搬離北京一個月后，我們五個同學又到原址測空氣污染指數(shù)，并將這些數(shù)據(jù)與原來記錄的數(shù)據(jù)進行比較。最后，我們五個同學共同完成了一萬字的報告，并獲得了北京市中學生社會實踐一等獎。”
從上面兩個學生回答中，我們則可以體會到素質差異。在考察有關校園活動的時候，除了學生們所重視的領導力、組織力、表達力等，學生的社會公益心、愛心、動手實踐能力等更被面試官所重視。因此，學生在面試中要學會融會貫通，舉一反三在最短的時間內與面試官做到最有效、最充分的溝通和展示。
四、父母職業(yè)等家庭背景方面的考核
在面試中，面試官還會問到父母的職業(yè)和家庭背景，這一點也會對學生的申請有微弱的影響力。因為美國中學的費用非常昂貴，學校會衡量家庭的經(jīng)濟實力。同時，美國中學很重視學生的家庭教育，學生的言談舉止都可以體現(xiàn)家庭的素質和父母教育的風格。
五、細節(jié)很重要

面試時常被問及的問題
1. "What can you tell me about yourself?" This is not an invitation to give your life history. The interviewer is looking for clues about your character, qualifications, ambitions, and motivations. The following is a good example of a positive response. "In high school I was involved in competitive sports and I always tried to improve in each sport I participated in. As a college student, I worked in a clothing store part-time and found that I could sell things easily. The sale was important, but for me, it was even more important to make sure that the customer was satisfied. It was not long before customers came back to the store and specifically asked for me to help them. I'm very competitive and it means a lot to me to be the best."

2. "Why do you want to work for us? This is an obvious question and, if you have done your research on the company, you should be able to give a good reason. 0rganize your reasons into several short sentences that clearly spell out your interest. "You are a leader in the field of electronics. Your company is a Fortune 5O0 company. Your management is very progressive."
