　　Campus

　　這個單詞童鞋們應該都不陌生，它就是我們常說的校園啦!

　　例句：

　　As I walked around the campus, this thought came to mind: How wonderful it would be to go to a university like this!

　　Quad

　　這個單詞指的是由幾棟樓包圍起來的一塊四方形的空地，在很多澳洲高校的校園里都可以見到，童鞋們可以坐在這里的草坪上看書、學習、聊天、野餐等等。

　　例句：

　　Students love to hang out in the quad and have a picnic or do homework.

　　Matriculation

　　大學的入學許可，表示童鞋們可以來大學里攻讀學位啦!

　　例句：

　　In a statement, the diocese said that incoming freshman for next fall would be guaranteed four years of matriculation at the current campus.

　　Censusu Date

　　在學校的.校歷上常常可以看到這個詞，它指的是統(tǒng)計日，在這個日期之前可以退選課程而無需支付罰款。因為很多童鞋在學期開始之后會臨時改變學習計劃，所以只要在Census Date之前退選課程，就不需要承擔課程費用，成績單上也不會有相應的記錄。

　　The census date is at the end of the fourth week of each semester.

　　Credit

　　這個詞可是非常重要的，因為它指的是我們要修的學分，不同的學校，不同的科目所要求的學分是有所不同的，所以童鞋們一定要事先了解清楚，學分修不滿的話可是沒辦法順利畢業(yè)的!

　　例句：

　　He received 4 credits for completing the Introduction to Psychology class.

　　Dean

　　大學里的院系主任，以后系里面有什么事情童鞋們就去找這個人就可以啦!

　　例句：

　　The dean of students says the university is seeking to enhance the quality of student life.

　　Bursar

　　學校里面掌管財務的人，如果你對學費等開銷有什么問題的話就可以去找這個人。

　　例句：

　　He said that when he walked into the bursar’s office on Friday morning with a 33-pound duffel bag full of cash, the tellers were stunned.

　　Academic Transcript

　　學術(shù)成績單，這是由大學官方出具的文件，記錄你在讀書期間所有課程的注冊記錄和成績。

　　例句：

　　They told him that if he didn’t take a leave of absence he would be involuntarily withdrawn, which would be reflected on his academic transcript.

　　Lecture / Tutorial

　　"Lecture"一般指很多學生一起上的大課，而"Tutorial"指的是規(guī)模比較小的授課形式，學生可以在課堂上有更多機會與老師和同學互動交流。

　　例句：

　　Every student should read the materials given in the lectures before attending the tutorials.

　　Seminar

　　一種類似研討會的授課形式，通常以學生參與討論為主，講師會提出一些問題，然后學生們就這些問題展開激烈的討論。

　　例句：

　　School district officials insist students are allowed to leave the classroom during seminar only for "curriculum-related activities".

　　Prerequisite

　　預修課程，指的是在注冊其它某些科目之前需要提前學習的課程。

　　例句：

　　Before applying to veterinary school, he started taking prerequisites in the evenings, on weekends and in summer school.

　　Major

　　學生在學校主修的專業(yè)，也就是專攻或重點研究的課程或領域。

　　例句：

　　A student’s major is what he or she decides will be the main focus of his or her academic career at that school.

　　Syllabus

　　這就是我們平時所說的類似教學大綱的東西，里面介紹了一門課的結(jié)構(gòu)、要學習的內(nèi)容、作業(yè)內(nèi)容、Due Dates、評分標準等，童鞋們在學習一門課之前一定要仔細閱讀Syllabus里面的內(nèi)容。
