《自深深處》的讀書筆記

　　1891年，處在寫作生涯巔峰期的王爾德遇見了阿爾弗雷德·“波西”·道格拉斯(Alfred "Bosie" Douglas)，兩人很快成為了同性戀人。四年后，因為這段“不敢說出名字的愛”，王爾德被判“有傷風化”罪而入獄。在獄中，王爾德開始反思從前的生活，思索痛苦和人生的意義，藝術(shù)和愛的真諦，最終將那些痛苦的淚水都化作優(yōu)美而深沉的文字，寫成了這封名為"de profundis"(從深處)的長信。

　　作者簡介：奧斯卡·王爾德(Oscar Wilde, 1854-1900)，英國維多利亞時代著名作家，“唯美主義運動”的.領(lǐng)軍人物，倡導“為藝術(shù)而藝術(shù)”(Art for art's sake)。他的代表作有戲劇《莎樂美》(Salome)《認真的重要性》(The Importance of Being Earnest)，童話《快樂王子》(The Happy Prince) 《夜鶯與玫瑰》(The Nightingale and the Rose)，小說《道連·格雷的畫像》(The Picture of Dorian Gray)，以及書信《自深深處》(De Profundis)等。

　　When first I was put into prison some peopleadvised me to try and forget who I was. It wasruinous advice. It is only by realising what I am that I have found comfort of any kind. Now I amadvised by others to try on my release to forget that Ihave ever been in a prison at all. I know that wouldbe equally fatal. It would mean that I would bealways haunted by an intolerable sense ofdisgrace, and that those things that are meant asmuch for me as for anyone else—the beauty of thesun and the moon, the pageant of the seasons, themusic of daybreak and the silence of great nights,the rain falling through the leaves, or the dewcreeping over the grass and making itsilver—would be tainted for me, and lose theirhealing power and their power of communicatingjoy. To reject one’s own experiences is to arrestone’s own development. To deny one’s ownexperiences is to put a lie into the lips of one’s ownlife. It is no less than a denial of the Soul.

　　剛進監(jiān)獄時，有些人勸我忘掉自己是誰。要聽了這話就完了。只有領(lǐng)悟了自己是什么人，我心中才有安寧可言�，F(xiàn)在又有些人勸我一出獄就忘掉自己曾經(jīng)坐過牢。我知道要聽了這話也會同樣要命的。這意味著一種不可容忍的恥辱之感將永遠緊追我不舍，這意味著那些我跟旁人一樣鐘愛的事物——日月之美、四季之盛、黎明的音樂、長夜的靜謐、綠葉間滴落的雨點、悄悄爬上草地把它綴成銀光一片的露珠——這一切在我眼里都將蒙上污漬，失去它們療治心靈的能力，失去它們傳達歡樂的能力。抵諱自己的經(jīng)歷就是遏止自己的發(fā)展。抵賴自己的經(jīng)歷就是讓自己的生命口吐謊言。這無異于排斥靈魂。
